- While accessible on mobile, we encourage users to work with the story editor on a laptop or desktop computer for the most ease of use and best results.
- Note that writing in non-English languages will produce Spellcheck errors in the story editor. These won't show in the preview of the book nor in print.
- Emojis cannot be printed. If you place one in the story editor and your screen glitches, please remove the emoji and refresh the page.
- The story editor includes a text toolbar for formatting your entries. Use the number and bullet functions to create lists; the bold, italics, and underline functions to create headers and add structure and emphasis to your stories; and the alignment functions to shift the way your content appears on the page.
- Text-to-speech is available on mobile, using your device’s native keyboard app. Use this feature to dictate your story – you can always edit the text later.
- Click the “Add photo” button to add images to your story from your device. You can add unlimited photos. Image file size must be less than 5MB.
- Click, hold, and drag to move your images around on the page. If you drag you image to a new place within the text, you will see a thin grey line appear where the photo can be placed; release the click to drop you image. Click on the image and toggle the + and – buttons to enlarge or shrink your image. You will not be able to enhance your image size beyond the page margin.
- Click below the photo to add a caption.
- We recommend you use the “preview” button in the top right corner to review individual questions as a PDF before finalizing – this can help you visualize how image sizes will impact text spacing throughout your book. After adding new content, you must click save on your story to enable the preview function.
- Always save your work before leaving the story editor page. If you save as a draft, you will be prompted to come back and finish your story later. If you save as complete, you can always reopen the story and continue to edit until you are ready to print.
